In September 2025, three of our engineers traveled west to Tukwila, a vibrant suburb just south of Seattle, Washington, known for its scenic parks, bustling shopping districts, and proximity to the stunning Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges. Their goal was to install two state-of-the-art 5 × 9 m (16.4 × 29.5 ft) Treadmill SkiMachines at a massive new action sports center: Stoke Mountain! Now, both beginners and seasoned skiers and snowboarders can experience the thrill of snow sports year-round on the first SkiMachines in Washington State!

How Stoke Mountain Originated

At the heart of Stoke Mountain are Erik and Nicholas Scott, a father-son duo whose love for skiing and snowboarding runs deep. Growing up in the breathtaking landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and Colorado, they thrive on backcountry adventures and the bliss of spring corn snow on Mt. Hood. What began as a simple idea to create a dry-slope training center for young shredders quickly grew into a vision for something far bigger. Erik and Nicholas set out to build a space where skiers and snowboarders of all levels could come together, train year-round, and fuel their passion for the sport. The result is Stoke Mountain, a premier action sports center dedicated to elevating the skills of both recreational and professional athletes. Here, comprehensive training programs cover alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, terrain park skills, and ski jumping, all on cutting-edge indoor slopes designed for every level of rider!

A hub for action sports lovers

Stoke Mountain is committed to making winter sports affordable and accessible to everyone while fostering an inclusive and vibrant community for all winter sports enthusiasts. First-time visitors can take a 60-minute Intro Class, designed to welcome beginners and experienced practitioners to indoor snow sports. The class includes a proper boot and equipment fitting, slope time to get familiar with the surface and technique, and an assessment of your skill level. Their massive terrain park delivers year-round excitement with features for everyone. Level up your steez on beginner-friendly boxes, techy rails, and small jumps, all on a dry slope that makes it easy to fall. Whether you’re learning to slide your first rail or throw a 270 out, this is the place where your park game is about to get an upgrade. Stoke Mountain also features a ski jump that can launch visitors up to 7.6 meters (25 ft) into a cushy airbag, just like landing tricks on the deepest powder day.

Looking for a place to unwind after your session? Enjoy a variety of drinks at the café while connecting with other snow sport lovers! There’s also a retail store offering a curated selection of skis, snowboards, and boots with custom fittings, along with top-quality apparel that supports small, locally owned brands. Their pro shop provides expert waxing, tuning, and repairs, ensuring you’re ready to take on natural ski resorts like Snoqualmie Pass. Stoke Mountain truly has it all!

Organizing summer camps

Stoke Mountain organizes summer camps for skiers and snowboarders who want more than just a way to pass the time. Why close your center during the summer months when you can keep it active and generate revenue with fun, engaging camps? Whether kids are just starting out or ready to tackle bigger challenges, Stoke Mountain’s summer camps focus on skill development, building confidence, and having a great time in a one-of-a-kind training environment. Participants can enjoy trampoline training for air awareness, age- and skill-appropriate ski jump sessions, freestyle and terrain park practice, and much more. The possibilities for offering summer camps are endless, just like our SkiMachines.

Action sports centers in the USA

More one-stop snow sports facilities are opening across the USA. With around 11 million active skiers nationwide, there is strong potential for action sports centers like SNÖBAHN, Boca Ice, and Stoke Mountain to meet the growing demand for year-round, affordable snow sports. In a country where skiing is often limited by seasonality, cost, and travel distance, these centers offer a practical solution. As Shaun White says, “Consistency in the sport is so important when you’re developing new skills.” That consistency is exactly what these centers provide.
